Beware using focusSkin.

So there seems to be an issue with setting a custom focus skin on a text input. Once the ti has focus you can’t actually select any text. Best advice is don’t skin one until it’s been fixed. I’ll be submitting the issue to Adobe.

    Hi,
Actually it is how it is supposed to behave. The focus skin overlays the base skin. Therefore you have to make masked focus skins with transparent regions.
For better results use Flash assets. You can see that the focus works perfect if the focus skin does not obstruct the content area of the component.

  1. Hey Nordirbek – the focusSkin.png file does indeed have transparent region in the center, it’s essentially a 1px perimeter only line. I guess it does need to be a Flash asset, rather than a Fireworks png…

    Thanks for the info.

  3. I want to change text highlight color instead of default black color in textInput. Any idea??

    Thanks
